Peak to Peak is the South Island’s largest multisport event covers 44km and features skiing, mountain biking, paddling, running and road biking. The premier event held on the 26th of July, attracts competitors from around the world.
Individuals and teams of two to five people race by ski or snowboard, mountain bike, kayak and foot from the top of the Remarkables Ski Area to Coronet Peak. Peak to Peak has several divisions and courses to choose from to cater for different ages and fitness levels.
The South Island’s biggest winter multisport event Peak to Peak in its eighteenth year attracts a strong field of multisport competitors from around the South Island.
The Remarkables and Coronet Peak are linked by a string of skiers, snowboarders, downhill cyclists, kayakers, runners and uphill cyclists in the annual Peak to Peak multisport race.
Peak to Peak, the country’s oldest winter multisport event, tends to attract a diverse mix of elite and recreational athletes. Race director Geoff Hunt said as well as catering for top athletes, Peak to Peak is also designed for friends and business colleagues to compete together in a spirit of “friendly rivalry”.
