WOMAD Festival – Taranaki, New Zealand – The World of Music and Dance festival takes place in Taranaki each year. It’s a fantastic experience showcasing hundreds of performers from across the world through music, dance, films and workshops.
With Taranaki’s epic surf, spectacular gardens, great events, legendary mountain and countless outdoor and cultural adventures it’s easy to see why the region prides itself on being a destination ‘like no other’.
The Taranaki Arts Festival Trust (TAFT) presents five festivals: WOMAD New Zealand; the Taranaki International Festival of the Arts; the Powerco Taranaki Garden Spectacular; Tropfest and Kinetika. It also manages a performing arts venue – The TSB Showplace. The trust’s aim is to deliver world class events, in world class venues, delivered by a world class team. TAFT is situated in the city of New Plymouth, in the Taranaki Region of New Zealand and was established as a charitable trust in 1991.

The Global Village is home to more than 80 stalls trading quality art and craft, and food from around the globe. You’ll find everything from clothing, jewellery, musical instruments, trinkets, sculptures, hats, flags. And then there’s the seemingly endless choice of what to eat and drink!
