Aloha Festival


Aloha Festivals has grown over the past 50 years to encompass 300 events on six islands spanning a two-month period. Aloha Festivals is one of the key Cultural events and festivals in Hawaii and is a fantastic celebration of Hawaii’s Pacific, Asian and Western cultural influences, from the Japanese Bon Dance to the traditional hula. Nearly 30,000 volunteers labor together to stage the events, which are attended by nearly 1 million – a festival truly of the people of Hawai’i by the people of Hawai’i.

Hula Festival


The largest non-competitive hula event in Hawaii, the festival is held each year on Oahu to honor Prince Lot Kapuaiwa who reprised the once forbidden hula in the district of Moanalua. Read more here. This Cultural Events and Festivals in Hawaii includes a line-up of premier hula groups who will perform ancient and contemporary hula. There will also be cultural demonstrations, a Made in Hawaii craft fair, poi pounding workshops, entertainment and more.

Lantern Floating 


Every year on Memorial Day, more than 40,000 residents of Hawaii and visitors gather at Ala Moana Beach Park to honor loved ones and generate hope toward the future. The event will include music and a ceremonial lighting of the Light of Harmony, leading up to the floating of lanterns onto the Pacific Ocean.
