Bougainville Resort
The
best way to appreciate the relaxed Melanesian way of life is to spend time
on one of the outlying islands. Bougainville Resort lies on the island of
Espiritu Santo, on the waters' edge about six kilometres from the town of
Luganville.
Your
private paradise...
Blending
into six acres of tropical gardens, this low key resort offers the
traditional charm of the old estate villa with 18 light and airy hexagonal
fares all with ceiling fans and ocean views. Encircling the original villa
is the exquisite flora of Santo including wild orchids, hibiscus and
frangipani.
Bougainville
Resort's restaurant is one of Vanuatu's best offering verandah dining on
the waterfront, perfect for watching the sunset over pre-dinner cocktails.
There is a full range of international dishes, with specialties including
locally grown Santo beef and seafood, with the national delicacy, coconut
crab. A comprehensive wine list features French, Australian and New
Zealand wines.
Transport
is arranged to and from town, and day tours can be arranged to visit the
custom villages, Champagne Beach, plantations, historic war sites and the
magical Blue Holes. A special treat is a day cruising the isles and
lunching on a deserted island where you can snorkel the magnificent reefs
or just relax on white sand beaches. Back at the resort, a good-sized
swimming pool is the main hub of activity.
With
fishing grounds literally at your doorstep and deep sea action no more
than 6-8 km off-shore, the resort's new game and sport fishing operation
offers full day charters on the 24 foot charter vessel, 'Pelagic' with a
light lunch and refreshments provided.
