Excursions in Santiago de Chile

Chile’s capital city, it is located on the Central Valley approximately 1,800 ft above the sea level, and framed by the majestic Andeans mountains. First settled by the Spaniards in 1541, it is today a bustling metropolis with modern malls and shopping arcades, large avenues, a great variety of restaurants and comfortable high standard hotels.

Cultural center of Chile, it displays rich museums, fine art galleries, theaters and cinemas. Less than two hours away, you will find some of the best ski slopes in the world and a string of charming seaside resorts.

CITY TOUR

Daily. Approximate duration: 3 1/2 hours. Departure from the hotel for a visit of the Club Hipico; the race track; the O'Higgins Park, featuring an artisan village; returning to the center by the former Chilean Military Academy driving along Alameda Avenue; the University of Chile and the 16th century San Francisco Church. Riding up San Cristobal Hill for an exceptional panoramic view of the city. Visit a small wine museum a little jewel for wine tasting.

Drive along Providencia Avenue, where we find the modern commercial center and residential districts. On the way between the modern and old parts of the city drive along forest park, featuring long promenades in a forest-like setting.

SANTIAGO BY NIGHT

Daily. Approximate Duration: 4 hours. Visit of interesting places like Teatro Municipal and Santa Lucia Hill for a view of the sparkling lights of the city. Including a stop at the Enoteca Restaurant for a taste of Chile's famous ,vines. Enjoy dinner and folklore show at a typical restaurant.

VIÑA DEL MAR & VALPARAISO

Daily. Approximate duration: 8 hours. Departure from the hotel along the countryside towards Valparaiso, Chile's major port. Drive along the docks and wharf areas; Prat Pier with its many little souvenir shops, up to a steep hillside for a full view of the port and the city. The cable-cars, a very original means of transport are one of the highlights enjoyed by the tourist. Proceed towards the city of Viña Del Mar; the "Garden City". Visit the "Flower Clock", drive along the coastal road, turning up for a final view of the bay.
