Kiburu Lodge

Hidden away at 5,400 feet in the lush Mendi Valley, Kiburu Lodge is a village owned lodge, built from a mixture of modern and traditional bush materials.

Kiburu Lodge consists of six wooden chalets accommodating twelve rooms. Each luxurious room has an en suite bathroom, queen size and single bed, telephone, satellite TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Services include daily laundry service, room service, airport transfers, and STD/ISD calls. There are also eight standard budget rooms with share facilities.

Early risers will enjoy majestic views of mountains surrounding mist covered valleys, and nature trails within the grounds contain a wealth of unspoiled, scented flora and a great variety of native birds and alpine orchids. Guests can choose from many activities and tours including trout fishing in the Mendi River, and bushwalking to traditional burial caves.

For the more adventurous, experience the thrill of white water rafting. The Mendi Valley is the rafting enthusiast's dream. Treks through the Southern Highlands can also be arranged. Kiburu Lodge's experienced guides will share their knowledge of these untouched areas.

In the evenings guests can relax in the cosy restaurant, lounge, bar, full verandah or outdoor barbeque area, and be entertained by the Kiburu Village people's dance performances.
