| Louisiade Archilpelago |
| The Louisiade Archipelago in Papua New Guinea includes Tagula, Misima, and Rossel islands and numerous other small volcanic islands and coral reefs. The chief village in the archipelago, Bwagaoia, is situated on the eastern coast of Misima Island. The Spanish navigator Luis Vaez de Torres visited the island group in 1606; it was named after Louis XV of France in 1768. |
