Accommodation in Raiatea

Ra’iatea is home to the country’s biggest and most important marae (ancient religious site), Taputapuatea, as well as to the rare Tiare Apetahi, a white flower that only grows on the slopes of Mt Temahani.

The island of Raiatea – part of the Windward Islands of the Society Islands – is a fertile island with dense jungle and beautiful flora. The lagoon contains colorful corals and fish. The Faaroa river is the only navigable river in French Polynesia. There is also a beautiful marina where you can rent sailboats for excursions around Raiatea and Taha’a and to Bora Bora, Huahine and Maupiti.

Hawaiki Nui Hotel

“This pleasant resort on the east coast of Raiatea is located directly on a beach and near the port of Raiatea (where the boat leaves to Tahaa). The hotel is about 10 min drive from the airport, so very handy location.”
