Accommodation in Mangaia
Mangaia is the southernmost island of the Cook Islands. The island is 51 km² and its highest point is 169 m. On Mangaia lives a small population of around 400, so don’t be surprised if you are the only tourists on the island when you visit. Its a fantastic local experience.

1. Exploring the caves
The skeletal remains of island ancestors can be found in caves that is often explored by international archaeologists.
2. Exploring the beaches
There are small pockets of coral sand beaches to be found. Some are almost inaccessible and very secluded. Other can be reached easily, but all are seldom visited. You’d be unlucky to share a beach with someone else.

3. Sunday Church Service
A great way to really experience local life on Mangaia is to attend their Sunday morning church s ervice.
Another option is to arrange a car hire to explore the island with independence.
