| INFORMATION
AND HELP DESKS: A
staffed information desk operates in baggage reclaim 0900-2330 and other
information points are located around the terminal. Uniformed volunteer
information assistants provide passenger assistance at peak periods. Talking
Brochures audio tours and Braille maps of the airport are available to
assist visually-impaired passengers. Computerised kiosks and brochures
provide information in Chinese, English, German, Japanese, Korean and
Spanish.
AIRPORT FACILITIES: The South Service Centre has banking facilities, an ATM, postage and courier facilities, an insurance service and a bureau de change. The North Service Centre offers an ATM, postal service and a bureau de change. ATMs and post boxes are also available throughout the terminal. There are numerous shops including duty-free, restaurants, cafés and bars available throughout the airport. DISABLED FACILITIES: Facilities for disabled passengers include toilets, TTY telephones and a guide dog relief area. Disabled car parking spaces are available in economy and long-term car parks. CONFERENCE AND BUSINESS FACILITIES: The PDX Conference Centre (tel: 503 460 4050) offers meeting rooms and business facilities including six executive meeting rooms which can accommodate up to 72 people, audiovisual equipment, photocopying, fax facilities, workstations with computers, notary service, private telephone rooms, typewriters and a secretarial service. Communication services including fax and PC workstations are also available at service centres on Concourses C and D. CAR HIRE: Hire companies include Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz and National. CAR PARKING: There is a covered car park with direct access to the terminal. Also available are economy and long-term car parks with disabled spaces for badge holders and a free shuttle bus service running every 5-10 minutes to/from the terminal. DRIVING DIRECTIONS: The terminal is served directly by Airport Way which leads off I-205. Travellers should leave extra time to compensate for congestion caused by the current construction programme. Coming from the north or south, take I-5 north/south, turn onto I-84 east, then I-205 north to the Airport Way west exit. From the east, take I-84 west, then I-205 north to the Airport Way west exit. From the west, take Hwy-26 heading east to Portland, then I-405 south, turn onto I-84 east, then I-205 north to the Airport Way west exit. PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Road: Taxi: Taxis are readily available from five different companies appointed by the City authority. Bus: Tri-Met runs public buses to central Portland and many shuttles operate from the airport to various areas around Portland 24 hours a day Monday-Sunday. The Grayline Express provides a scheduled bus service to most hotels in central Portland, departing every 30 minutes 0500-2400. AIRPORT HOTELS: There are three hotels at the airport: the Embassy Suites (tel: 503 460 3000), Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel (tel: 503 281 2500) and Hampton Inn (tel: 503 288 2423). |
