| INFORMATION AND HELP
DESKS: Airport information booths are
located in all terminals on the lower floor, and can translate over 166
languages. Help desks are located on the upper level of all terminals, and
are open 0900-2100 Monday-Sunday in the International Terminal and
0900-1700 in the North and South Terminals.
AIRPORT FACILITIES: Money and communications: ATMs and bureaux de change, open 0630-2230 Monday-Sunday, are available in all terminals and boarding lounges and there is a full service bank, open 0800-1600 Monday-Friday and 0800-1200 Saturday, in the North Terminal. There are also postboxes located in each terminal. Mobile telephones can be rented from the lower levels of boarding areas C, D and F. Eating and drinking: There are various bars, cafés and restaurants in each terminal. Shopping: In the North Terminal, there are gift shops, newsagents and bookshops, a clothing and accessories store, sweet shops, a toy shop, an aviation memorabilia shop, a leather goods shop and a cosmetics and toiletries store. In the South Terminal, there are gift shops and a newsagents, a bookshop, a Californian souvenir shop and a sweet shop. The new International Terminal has a duty-free store, a pharmacy, a discovery store, a toy shop, clothing shops, a travel goods store, a leather goods store, an aviation memorabilia shop, a golf shop, a newsagents, giftshops, a cosmetics and toiletries store, sweet shops, a sunglasses shop, a speciality food and wine store, a watch shop and a sports store. Other facilities: A hairdressers is located in boarding area C. There is a medical clinic on the lower floor of the International Terminal. DISABLED FACILITIES: The airport is physically accessible and airline employees can assist passengers with disabilities before departure or upon arrival. There are TDD phones throughout the airport for hearing-impaired travellers. Disabled car parking is also available (tel: 650 877 0227). CONFERENCE AND BUSINESS FACILITIES: There are two Aerzone business centres in the International Terminal. Each business centre provides individual work spaces, with Pentium computers with business software and Internet connections, copying, printing, laptop computer connections, fax facilities and staff support. Meeting rooms and web conferencing facilities are also available. There are no business facilities in the North or South Terminals. CAR HIRE: All major rental companies are based at the airport, including Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty. A shuttle bus runs between the terminals and the new Rental Car Center which is located on Hwy-101 North (take San Bruno Avenue exit). Shuttle buses depart every 3-5 minutes 24 hours a day from the upper level centre island of the terminal buildings. CAR PARKING: Short-term car parks with disabled spaces and direct access to terminals (tel: 650 877 0227) are available. A long-term car park is located 3.5km (2 miles) north of the airport terminals. At the International Terminal, there are two garages, A and G. A free shuttle bus service operates between the long-term car parks, the garages and the terminals (journey time: 10 minutes). DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From central San Francisco, take Route 101 south and follow signs to the airport. For access to the long-term car parks, turn left onto I-380 and then turn right onto South Airport Boulevard. PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Rail: Train: All BART (tel: 650 992 2278 or TDD: 510 839 2220) stations are fully wheelchair accessible. A free, wheelchair-accessible CalTrain shuttle service runs to Millbrae CalTrain station. Road: Taxi: Taxis depart from the lower level baggage reclaim area in the North and South Terminals. In the International Terminal, taxis depart from level 2 arrivals. Taxi drivers are required by airport regulations to accept fares to all destinations. Buses and trains depart for all Bay Area County destinations. Bus: In the North and South Terminals, buses depart from level 1, next to the Central Terminal Island Center and the North Terminal kerbside. In the International Terminal, buses depart from level 1, Courtyard A. Wheelchair accessible SamTrans buses run from the terminals to various BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) stations 0400-0000. AIRPORT HOTELS: Hotels located very near the airport include the Holiday Inn, Hyatt, Marriott and Sheraton.
