Basketball: the LA Lakers (tel
310/419-3182) and the LA Clippers (tel 213/745-0500), both play at
the brand new Staples Center near downtown. The mediocre Clippers are a
cheap date ($10–65) while the better, flashier Lakers will cost you
plenty for decent seats ($21–150). |

LA Kings are also based at the Forum (tel 310/419-3160), seats
$10–80. The Mighty Ducks represent Orange County and play at
Arrowhead Pond (tel 714/704-2500) in Anaheim. $25–160.
Pasadena’s 102,000-capacity Rose Bowl
(tel 626/577-3100), seven miles northeast of downtown LA, is used for the
annual New Year’s Rose Bowl football game, and was the venue for several
games in soccer’s 1994 World Cup, including the final. |
