Once a remote, high-desert town primarily known for Edward's Air Force Base, Lancaster is now a bedroom community for commuters making the long haul to Los Angeles. In the spring, many from LA reverse the commute to see the spectacular blooming display at the nearby California Poppy State Reserve.
