Niue (Introduction)

It is said that Niue is the largest uplifted coral island in the world, like a jewel in a sea of dazzling blue colour.

Situated 2,400 kilometres north east of New Zealand, on the eastern side of the International Dateline, Niue's population of 2,300 people is scattered amongst 13 villages, the biggest of which is the capital, Alofi.
