Aloha Airlines

Traveling with a disability

What advance notification does Aloha Airlines require to obtain special services for disabled passengers?

Aloha Airlines requests 48-hour advance notification and one hour advance check-in for:

  • Medical oxygen for use on board.
  • Carriage of a spillable wheelchair battery due to hazardous material packing requirements.
  • Accommodation of a group of 10 or more qualified individuals with a disability.
  • Request of an on-board wheelchair.

Is there any specific equipment or service for a person with a disability that Aloha Airlines does not provide?

Aloha Airlines is not able to accommodate customers who require an incubator, a respirator, or transportation on a stretcher.

What can a customer who uses a wheelchair expect from Aloha Airlines?

  • Wheelchairs are not counted as part of your checked or carry-on baggage allotment.
  • If there is an aft closet big enough, Aloha Airlines will stow one folding manual or electric wheelchair on board. Not all of our 737- jets have closets big enough to safely stow a wheelchair, so if you are on such an aircraft, we will gate claim your chair and have it returned to you at the gate upon arrival.
  • Electric wheelchairs with spillable batteries must be detached and carried in the cargo compartment. Aloha Airlines will provide battery boxes at no additional charge.
  • Customers have the option to include wheelchairs as checked baggage that will be returned at baggage claim or gate claim baggage that will be returned at the arrival gate.
  • Customers are encouraged to provide written directions for disassembling and assembling an electric wheelchair battery.

What is the Reservations Office's special TDD number?

What do I need to show Aloha Airlines when I request oxygen on board my flight?

If I have a problem with my flight, whom can I call or see?

Customers can ask for a Complaint Resolution Official at any of our airport counters or at our Reservations Office.
