DRIVING AGE
Minimum age required is 21 years old. The driver is required to hold a
driving licence of one year minimum, B category.
RATES
Our rates include lubricating oils and maintenance of the vehicle.
Minimum charge is 24 hours. Mileage is to be added and 50 km minimum
will be charged per day, even if they haven't been used. Extra hours are
charged on the basis of 1/5 of the daily rate increased by the 1/5 of
the insurance if any. A full day rate will be charged beyond 5 hours.
THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT INCLUDED IN OUR RATES
- Gasoline
- Police fines, penalties, and impounding charges
- Punctures, tires, accessories damaged or stolen
- Expenses charged in the event of vehicle immobilisation, assuming that
the driver's lialability is involved or in the case of the driver didn't
take the insurance.
PAYMENT
A deposit is required for each rental based on both duration of contract
and category of vehicle. Credit card, travellers checks, checks of
Tahitian bank and cash are allowed.
DURATION
The rental agreement is concluded for a definite period. The
prolongation time can be done only if an additional clause is signed
between the renter and AVIS before the date of expiration of the
contract. By keeping a rented vehicle abusively, the renter is liable to
be sued and loses the benefit of the contract.
GENERAL INSURANCE CONDITIONS
Scope of the coverage
The rented car is to be exclusively used on public or private roads
normally open to car traffic. It is insured under the standard terms
covering self driven cars under the special terms as specified in the
insurance policy which are available at the AVIS office in Papeete.
The main items in the insurance contract are the following
Vehicle insurance: in our rates is included the third part liability
insurance. It is possible depending the conditions of the driving
licence's years and age of the driver, to take a comprehensive insurance
(CDW), Collision Damage Waver, but it will stay an incomprehensive
surrender as the following rates:

Driver's insurance
The renter may if he/she so wishes, take out an insurance and therefore
also benefit from the additional cover thus provided. Rate: 500 FCP per
day
ACCIDENT
Any accident should be reported within 24 hours in our different
offices, by completing the report even if no third party has been
identified. In the event that this time limit would not be adhered to,
damages and expenses would be borne fully by the renter.
