offer is the coral and marine life found on Ningaloo reef, the largest
coral fringing reef in world. The reef stretches from North to South
260km, supports over 500 different varieties of and comprises more than
220 species of coral.
Coral stretches out from the shoreline for
approximately 2 km. First time snorkellers find these protected waters
provide an ideal environment to discover the underwater world. For the
very young to the more mature traveller, snorkelling in Coral Bay is both
safe and accessible. Fish come right into the shore, daily to be fed.
During this time you may see North West Snapper, Parrot Fish, Mullet,
Wrasse, Fusiliers and much more.
The area directly surrounding Coral Bay is a
sanctuary zone, thus a multitude of fish life can be found. As you swim
off the shore you will be greeted by the friendly Spangled Emperor
(locally known as North-West Snapper) and as you venture over stunning
coral formations you will see hundreds of varieties of colourful tropical
fish. The Coral Bay area boasts a fine array of marine life, including
Dugong, Turtles, Dolphins, the awesome Humpback Whales majestic Manta Rays
and the mighty Whale Sharks.
