| Built in 1888, The Grand is one of the
most significant landmarks of the Yarra Valley. Classified by the National
trust, and registered with Heritage Commission, The Grand has been
restored to reflect the grace and elegance of the turn of the century.
After its refurbishment in 1990 , The Yarra Glen
Grand won the AHHA Awards for Excellence , Best Country Hotel category.
The commitment to service and attention to detail were rewarded in 1997 ,
when The Yarra Glen Grand won the 1997 AHHA Awards for Excellence , Best
Boutique Accommodation for a Country Hotel category. In the same awards ,
The Grand Dining Room was runner up for Best Hotel Brasserie Style
Restaurant.
Operating as a hotel, restaurant, cafe and bar,
it is also available for private functions and conferences.
But even with all the old world splendor, the
fine dining and antique fittings, sipping a quiet beer on the veranda
while watching the dying light drop out over the Yarra Ranges is still one
of The Grand's best features.
