About Phillip Island

The Phillip Island Nature Park is recognised as the most diverse and stimulating nature based destination in Australia, providing the best opportunities for viewing penguins, seals, koalas and sea birds in their natural environments.

The island is also full of rewards for those willing to take the time to look a little closer. The magnificent granite cliffs of Cape Woolamai, or the spectacle of thousands of Short-tailed Shearwaters flying just past the surf line as the sun sets on a windswept beach. The knowledgeable team at the Continental is there to guide you in making your island experience a memorable one.

1. Penguin Reserve
Every night of the year, just after sunset, the world-famous Little Penguins come ashore at the same beach to make their way to their burrows in the dunes at Summerland Beach. Each year over 500,000 visitors are treated to the magical experience of sharing the sunset with these wild birds.

2. Seal Rocks Sea Life Centre
Visit the "Zoo of the future" - A unique opportunity to view Australia's largest colony of fur seals at close range using the latest technology. An interactive, all-weather display of fascinating marine life.

4. Churchill Island. Step across the water and back in time.
