Location

Mt Buller Alpine Resort is 250km north east of Melbourne and rises to an altitude of 1805 metres above sea level. The Resort embodies some of Victoria's most spectacular alpine and sub-alpine terrain. It offers 180 ha of ski trails as well as wide open spaces above the tree line, with the longest trail being 2.5km. There are 27 ski lifts capable of moving 40 000 people every hour. Since the maximum number of people skiing is approximately 10 000 at peak periods, there are no delays in catching a lift.

Getting there

Driving to Mt Buller is easy. The scenery on the way is well worth taking your time to see and enjoy. Remember to pick up chains along the way either in Mansfield or Mirimbah. You pay your resort entry at Mirimbah where you will be advised of road conditions. Follow the well maintained sealed road up the hill and enjoy the many spectacular alpine views. At the carparks you will be met by an attendant who will show you where to park. The 4WD oversnow vehicles then meet you and take you to where you are staying on the mountain. So easy, no walking, no lugging gear.

If you prefer you can leave the car in the valley. Mansfield Mt Buller Bus Lines provide regular services from Mansfields, Merrijig and Mirimbah, all co-ordinated through to your lodge. This means no chain hire and no mountain driving.
