Train Journeys in Australia

The Sunlander (Brisbane - Cairns & vv)

If the tropical north is on your itinerary and you're happy to let the world pass you by, then the Sunlander service offers you a comfortable, relaxing and affordable alternative, three times a week.

A dining car available to all passengers plus two Club Cars (one for sleeping car passengers and the other for sitting) are attached, tastefully furnished with both lounge and club style chairs. The Club Cars have a congenial atmosphere and, except for some periods of night travel, offer continuous service for light refreshments, drinks and confectionery.

If desired, passengers may take light refreshments to their seat or cabin. A restricted liquor service is also available for consumption in the Club Cars. The Club Cars operate in conjunction with the Dining Car where two or three course meals (Table D'Hote) can be purchased. Meal tickets are distributed by the Passenger Attendants.

To see the best of Queensland, just sit back, relax and let the Sunlander show you the rest. Comfortable first-class accommodation consists of both first and economy class sleeping compartments and economy sitters.
