First Class Lounges
Once the journey is under way First Class passengers can enjoy the ever changing views, from the comfort of the First Class Lounges. The lounges are designed in themes inspired by local history, culture and landscape.

  • Hannans Bar & Lounge

This lounge was named after Paddy Hannan who was the first miner to discover gold at Kalgoorlie in 1893.

The decor and furnishings of this stylish lounge have been inspired by the interior of the early Australian mining town pubs. Accessories have been based on the solid miners brooch on display in Kalgoorlie's Capital Goldfields Museum.

  • The Blue Mountains Lounge Car

Australia's famous Blue Mountains are the first dramatic natural features encountered in the journey westward aboard the Indian Pacific.

The mountains feature deep canyons and rugged high plateaus which take on intense blue, grey and violet hues due to the abundance eucalypt trees, and these colours are echoed in this luxurious lounge car.

  • The Silvercity Lounge

Named after the historic mining town of Broken Hill, the decor of this opulent lounge was inspired by the unique colours, patterns and architecture of the city's Trades Hall.

Symbols of the famous "Silver Tree", an intricate piece of silver work commissioned by Broken Hills "father", Charles Rasp, are incorporated into graphics for the lounge's nameplate.

The "Silver Tree" stands almost one metre high and is made from the first silver drawn from the Broken Hill mine.
