Itinerary

Spend a day experiencing one of Central Australia's oldest secrets. Incredible vistas, gorges, valleys & water holes, rich in Aboriginal culture, in one of the world's oldest geological areas.

After an early start, we head off for a fun day visiting Flynns Grave, Ellery Creek Big Hole, Glen Helen & Ormiston Gorge. After spending the day bushwalking, swimming, and learning about the Aboriginal way of life, we return to Alice Springs. Please note this tour does NOT go to Ayers Rock!

Itinerary

Day 1: The adventure begins travelling through the James and Waterhouse Ranges to the Outback Camel Farm where many passengers will have their first opportunity to ride a camel (at own expense). We journey onto Ayers Rock enjoying the sights of the Hugh & Finke River, Mt Connor, and the vast Salt Pans along the way. After lunch at Yulara, we set out to explore the Wonder of the Olgas and hike the Valley of the Winds. We return to enjoy champagne whilst we watch the desert sun set over Ayers Rock. After a hearty dinner at our permanent campsite, take the opportunity to view the brilliance of the outback sky. Then curl up for the night in our tents or if you prefer, under the millions of stars in an authentic Aussie bedroll. (LD)

Day 2: An early start is required for one of the highlights of the tour - the Ayers Rock sunrise. Overcoming the challenge of the optional Ayers Rock climb is rewarded with the serenity of seeing the sunrise from its summit. This spectacular experience is followed by a base tour, exploring its mysterious rock formations & Aboriginal art sites. A visit to the Cultural Centre offers the chance to view and purchase Aboriginal arts and crafts. After Lunch at Yulara, we depart for Kings Canyon for our over night camp and delicious camp oven cooking. (BLD)

Day 3: Climb and explore Kings Canyon and view the "Amphitheatre", "The Lost City", the picturesque "Garden of Eden" and the breathtaking North and South Walls. We then take time to relax and refresh in the cooling waterhole. Lunch before departing to Alice Springs and a chance to re-live your experiences over your end of tour meal. (BLD)

Itinerary

Day 1: Your adventure through the Red Centre begins with the striking scenery of the Western MacDonnell Ranges. We take you through the unique rock formations and the beauty of Ellery Creek Big Hole, Glen Helen Gorge, and a hike around the spectacular Ormiston Gorge. We travel through Tylers Pass via Gosse Bluff, a crater some believe is 130 million years old, to Hermannsburg Aboriginal Community. The track of the ancient Finke River takes us to the home of Albert Namitjira, the famous Aboriginal painter near Hermannsburg, where we set up our overnight bushcamp. (LD)

Day 2: In the morning, we explore Palm Valley including Cycad Gorge. In this beautiful national park, you will see one of the rarest trees in the world, the tropical palm Livistonia Mariae. We then head towards Kings Canyon along the Mereenie Track. A relaxing afternoon before enjoying camp oven cooking and settling down for the night. (BLD)

Day 3: Climb and explore the spectacular formation of Kings Canyon, viewing the "Amphitheatre", "The Lost City", the picturesque "Garden of Eden" and the breathtaking North and South Walls. Moving on to Curtin Springs Cattle Station (4162 Sq km) to meet some locals before heading to the base of Mt. Connor, and then on to your bush camp.

Day 4: We leave Mount Connor and travel onward to explore the Olgas (Kata Tjuta) and the Valley of the Winds, before heading to our campsite for lunch. After lunch, visit the Cultural Centre before venturing to Ayers Rock to view the spectacular sunset and settle down for the night. (BLD)

Day 5: Up bright and early for the optional sunrise climb of Ayers Rock which is followed by a base tour exploring its mysterious rock formations and Aboriginal artsites. Returning to the campground, you are treated to lunch ( Safari ends for passengers flying out of Ayers Rock ) before departing to Alice Springs via Frontier Camel Farm. Re-live your complete Red Centre experience at your end of tour meal usually held at the Melanka Lodge. (BLD)
