Cape York - This remote and beautiful Peninsula is one of Australia's last remaining wilderness areas; a once in a lifetime experience. A rugged region of towering rain and eucalypt forests, sweeping sandy shorelines, dazzling birdlife; an area of immense natural beauty. 

Enjoy a scenic flight over the stunning reefs of the Great Barrier Reef to Thursday Island and experience the distinctive atmosphere of this island for one night.

Cruise the clear northern waters of Endeavour Strait to the tip of Cape York Peninsula. 

Spend two idyllic nights amidst lush rainforest and rustling bushland at Pajinka Wilderness Lodge, only a short walk from the most northerly point of the Australian mainland. 

Travel through Aboriginal Land, skirt Jardine River National Park and journey along tough wilderness tracks and rugged river crossings. Tour the Western Gulf port of Weipa and gain an insight into the unique lifestyles of the Gordon and Heinmann families, who work the isolated cattle stations of Musgrave and Bramwell. Overnight in the frontier town of Cooktown, steeped in history then continue south along the Bloomfield Track. 

Enjoy a night at Coconut Beach Rainforest Resort, at spectacular Cape Tribulation, amidst the beautiful rainforest. Venture through the wilderness area of Cape Tribulation National Park and cross the famous Daintree River. A scenic coastal trip past the azure waters of the Coral Sea and back to the capital of Far-North Queensland, Cairns. Cape York Peninsula . . . "once, in a lifetime."

Itinerary:

Day 1 Fri. Cairns: You will be welcomed on arrival and transferred to the Radisson Plaza Hotel at the Pier for 3 nights. Remainder of day at leisure.

Day 2 Sat. At Leisure In Cairns (B): Day at leisure for shopping or sightseeing. Why not enquire about one of our Day Tours in and around Cairns – 20% discount applies.

Day 3 Sun. Atherton Tablelands (B): Enjoy your ride aboard the scenic Kuranda Train. Tour the picturesque Atherton Tablelands, visit the fascinating Curtain Fig Tree and cruise on the volcanic crater, Lake Barrine.

Day 4 Mon. Daintree River Crossing - Cape Tribulation National Park (BD): Follow the scenic coast then cross the Daintree River on our way to the unspoilt wilderness of Cape Tribulation National Park.

Day 5 Tue. Historical Cooktown (BD): Travel the Bloomfield Track to historic Cooktown. Visit the fascinating James Cook Museum, filled with historical relics.

Day 6 Wed. Lakefield Nat. Park (BLD): Continue north via Old Laura Homestead to Lakefield National Park, a unique wilderness area. Enjoy your stay at Musgrave Station.

Day 7 Thur. Coen – Tour Weipa (BLD): Explore the old gold-mining town of Coen then to Archer River. This afternoon travel along the stony track of the Peninsula Development Road on our way to Weipa, located on the western shores of the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Day 8 Fri. Bramwell Station (BLD): Through the remote areas of Cape York Peninsula, cross the mighty Wenlock River before passing the Morton Telegraph Station to Bramwell Station.

Day 9 Sat. Jardine River National Park – Cape York (BLD): Skirt the famous Jardine River National Park, an immense area of unusual vegetation. Travel through the traditional lands of the Injinoo Aboriginal people. Continue to the tip of Cape York for a relaxing 2 night stay.

Day 10 Sun. At Leisure Cape York (BLD): Day at leisure to swim, bushwalk, fish, or just relax in these peaceful natural surroundings.

Day 11 Mon. Tour Thursday Island (BD): Cross the clear blue waters of Endeavour Strait to the northerly settlement of Thursday Island. On arrival enjoy your guided tour of this remote island and experience the relaxed, idyllic influence of the Thursday Island people.

Day 12 Tue. Cape York – Cairns (B): Morning at leisure to enjoy the idyllic atmosphere of Thursday Island. Afternoon transfer to Horn Island Airport for flight to Cairns.

Day 13 Wed. Cairns (B): Your tour concludes this morning after breakfast.
