Freycinet Lodge |
|
Freycinet Lodge is your gateway to this natural enigma.
Situated inside Tasmania's oldest coastal National Park, the Lodge offers a
relaxing atmosphere and a range of nature based activities so you can experience
a blend of the scientific and aesthetic at whatever level you choose. Here, the
interested traveller can take time to learn about the unique systems that exist
on this spectacular peninsular.
We'd heard all about Freycinet's award-winning design,
but it was still hard to believe that so many cabins could cause so little
intrusion. Everything - even the choice of paint colour - seemed to be aimed at
maximising our enjoyment of nature, while minimising the impact on this
beautiful place." Enjoy the delights of Tasmanian hospitality and fresh local produce in beautiful idealic settings. Fresh seafood! It's our passion, and we'd heard so much about the local produce - especially the wine and oysters. We weren't disappointed. Just as a reminder that we were dining in the middle of a National Park, the setting sun painted a red and gold explosion over Great Oyster Bay. And we didn't even have to leave our dining room seats! I think I'll try the local steak tomorrow night..." Accommodation Comfortable cabins nestle unobtrusively in a stunning secluded National Park setting. The Lodge features 60 cabins tastefully appointed in a secluded bushland setting. Cabins are one and two bedroom some having spas. All feature queen size beds, private balcony, individual heating and fans and are serviced daily. The lodge offers the following accommodation types.

| About Freycinet
National park
Freycinet Peninsula extends eastwards from the Tasmanian mainland - a unique and exciting melting pot of natural habitats. Craggy granite peaks thrust imposingly upwards, overlooking sandy white beaches and crystal blue ocean - a dramatic setting for an unusual variety of eco-systems, ranging from wetlands through heathlands, coastal dunes, dry eucalypt forests to the underwater magic of the southern temperate waters. Feel the beauty, contemplate nature and be guided to an understanding of how it came to be. Our qualified environmental scientist will help you participate in daily programs which cover such diverse topics as bush foods & medicines, nature photography, bird watching, animal spotting at night and more.Possums, wallabies, quolls (native cats) and birds can be seen in their native habitat adjacent to your cabin. You may even see dolphins and whales in the bay migrating northwards. A charter boat is available for longer trips to view seal and penguin colonies off shore. Experience a wealth of outdoor pursuits. Walk along incredible tracks, seeing the beauty of the Tasmanian wilderness. "What a day! Wineglass Bay really turned it on - just for us, I'm sure. Stunning! Can you get too much fresh, clean air? I hope not, because we're going back for more in the morning. Breakfast at Mt. Amos, no less. I just hope we've enough time left to fit in everything in. A dive through the kelp beds in Sleepy Bay. A cruise to the seal colony. And perhaps time for a game of tennis. Lucky the beds are so comfy. I intend to sleep like a log tonight..." |
