This self-drive includes car rental for the entire duration of the self-drive and all hotel accommodation along the route. You will enjoy the day to day driving program, as we have measured the driving distances per day for optimal sightseeing. This way you are sure to see all the highlights along the route and use your time in the most optimal way.

If we are booking your accommodation before departure, we will arrange for your car to be delivered to your hotel.

Day 1 Sydney to Batemans Bay (274 km) (170 mi) Travel via Wollongong to Kiama with the famous blowhole! Continue through Ulladulla and Murramarang National Park to Batemans Bay. Overnight: Mariners Lodge

Day 2 Batemans Bay to Narooma (100 km) (62 mi) Take a leisurely drive south passing a string of gorgeous coves and beaches - Lilli Pilli, Malua Bay, Guerilla Bay and Mossy Point, before arriving in Narooma. Overnight: Festival Motor Inn.

Day 3 Narooma to Merimbula (104km) (65 mi) Drive to the National Trust classified village of Central Tilba. Continue to Bega and down the Sapphire Coast to Merimbula. Overnight: Merimbula Motor Inn.

Day 4 Merimbula to Lakes Entrance (168 km) (104 mi) Travel through Eden, along the Princes Highway via Twofold Bay, through Ben Boyd National Park and the timber town of Orbost to Lakes Entrance. Overnight: Sherwood Lodge.

Day 5 Lakes Entrance/Melbourne (230 km) (143 mi) Travel through Bairnsdale to the once busy paddle-steamer port of Sale then along the Princes Highway to Morwell to Victoria's capital of Melbourne.
