Rail Australia provides convenient service between most major cities (please note that you cannot travel by train to Darwin or within Tasmania). These passes are for international travellers only and must be bought before you arrive in Australia. To be sure that you can make full use of your pass, it’s advisable to book your route when you buy it.

These passes give you the flexibility of travelling economy class over 6 months, allowing you stopovers at any location without using up the date validity of the pass
The Austrail Flexipass lets you linger without wasting your ticket: eight days of travel within a six-month period, for example, costs around £196 (US$338) you can also choose 15, 22 or 29 days).
AUSTRAILPASS*
This huge savings Rail Pass is valid for unlimited rail travel. The Austrailpass, which must be bought outside Australia and gives unlimited travel for fourteen, twenty-one or thirty consecutive days on all state-owned railways, including suburban links around state capitals; prices cost £237 (US$408) for fourteen days, £307 (US$528) for twenty-one days and £370 (US$638) for thirty days.
