One of the main interstate bus companies on the mainland is McCafferty’s, but its network is limited to the eastern states.

McCafferty’s Express Coaches, Australia’s oldest established and most successful coach line, offers a convenient, comfortable and inexpensive way to see the best Australia has to offer. McCafferty’s has a range of eight Travel Australia passes: the “Best of the East and Centre” pass includes their entire network on the mainland, is valid for twelve months and costs $820; there are also a number of point-to-point passes, such as Melbourne–Cairns “Follow the Sun” lasting for six months and costing $295.
