| The Wentworth was owned originally by
Australia's leading airline, Qantas. It is now managed by the acclaimed
Rydges group of hotels. Opened in 1996, it features an unusual arced
frontage which forms a garden courtyard facing Chifley Square. Completely
renovated in 1991, the hotel boasts an opulent entry foyer with extensive
use of marble, brass and glass.
The foyer has a number of fine shops offering
quality products from jewellery to antiques. The Wentworth has a high
reputation for service and is favoured by guests who enjoy a more
traditional ambience.
It is very conveniently located for business
travellers as well as tourists, though it does not offer harbour views.
The Wentworth is on the fringe of the financial district and a 5 minute
walk from Circular Quay. City buses stop virtually at the front door and
it is served by a major taxi rank. The Rocks and the Sydney Opera House
are about 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes by taxi.
The Wentworth has more bars and restaurants than
many newer hotels including the very good Club Grill restaurant and Bar,
which is an English style a la carte grill room featured steaks and
seafood. It is open for lunch Monday to Friday and dinner Sunday to
Friday. |

| The fifth floor Garden
Court looks out onto the Garden Courtyard and serves breakfast and lunch
daily, dinner Monday to Saturday. Featuring contemporary Australian
cuisine, the Garden Court is complemented by the Garden Court Wine Bar
which offers a large range of Australian wines and a full range of
cocktails. Open Monday to Saturday, it features live evening musical
entertainment.
The Galleria Café is an international style
coffee shop serving light snacks seven days, while Tuchetti's is an
Italian-style restaurant which also serves take-away meals for guests who
prefer a change from the room service menu. The large and popular lobby
bar is a full cocktail lounge with live music, open daily.
Legends Bar offers bistro style meals such as
pizza and nachos for lunch Monday to Friday and in the evening Monday to
Saturday. There's dancing at night.
The Wentworth has a wide range of room types
ranging from standard rooms with Queen-size beds to the Premier Suite with
two Queens and a double sofa.
There are 106 King-bedded rooms and 125 twins,
plus seven styles of suite. The hotel has a total of 424 rooms and 46
suites.
