The Ritz-Carlton Sydney is a boutique hotel in very much the traditional European style. Incorporating an imposing old sandstone building which houses reception, The Dining Room and The Bar, the hotel has just 106 rooms including 15 suites. Guestrooms are either King or twin bedded and have marble bathrooms with separate shower and toilet compartment. Guests are provided with fine European toiletries and terry towelling bathrobes. Many rooms have French doors that open out on a decorative balcony. The public areas and guestrooms are tastefully furnished in classic style with fine carpets and luxurious fabrics. Very high ceilings in the bar and restaurant areas, adorned with gilt-framed paintings, give the hotel elegance and the immediate feel of style. The Dining Room is open daily for breakfast and dinner, featuring seasonal specials and healthy macrobiotic and Cuisine Vitale dishes. It serves a business lunch on weekdays (except holidays) and light pre and post opera meals - 6pm to 7pm Sunday to Thursday, and 6pm to 11.30pm Friday and Saturday. The Bar serves a Mediterranean buffet lunch daily, and specialty evening snacks Monday to Friday.

The Ritz-Carlton is on the eastern edge of the city centre, opposite the Royal Botanical Gardens. It is within easy walking distance of the Sydney Opera House and 5 to 10 minutes from the Circular Quay ferry and harbour cruise wharves and the financial district. Macquarie Street boasts many of Sydney's most important and historic public buildings, including the Library of New South Wales, Parliament House, the Hyde Park Barracks Museum and St James Church. The hotel is on one of the main access roads to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and North Sydney, making it a very convenient location for senior executives with business in the city or North Sydney. Ritz-Carlton is also very close to many of Sydney's main city visitor attractions.
