Grand Mercure's three-bedroom and many two-bedroom apartments overlook part of the Darling Harbour convention and entertainment complex and have uninterrupted views of the western side of the city over Darling Harbour.

This city-over-the-water view is particularly striking towards sunset and at night when the city become a kaleidoscope of lights. The other one-bedroom apartments overlook the inner western suburbs with the Blue Mountains in the distance.

Grand Mercure has very convenient monorail and ferry links to key parts of the city. It is ideally placed for delegates attending conferences at Darling Harbour and people who want to stay close to Star City Casino. The precinct has a wide variety of visitor attractions, including the National Maritime Museum, Imax Theatre, Sydney Aquarium and Chinese Gardens.

Grand Mercure within comfortable walking distance of the Sydney Entertainment Centre and Chinatown - about 15 minutes. The hotel has ample parking and taxis are generally readily available outside peak times.

Grand Mercure has no restaurant but there are several nearby in the Darling Harbour complex. The Ibis and Novotel hotels, which are managed by the same group, are next door.

Novotel Sydney offers all day buffet and a la carte dining at its very large Baudin's restaurant, which seats 250 and looks out to the city over Darling Harbour. Its La Terrasse Lounge & Cocktail Bar also looks out to the city and features live music in the evening.

Ibis too has a restaurant and bar. The excellent Chinese restaurants of Chinatown are a comfortable walk away, as is the Star City casino where guests can choose from several restaurants and try their luck on the gaming tables.
