Hotel in Hunter Valley (Pokolbin) Peppers Guesthouse |
| Peppers Guest House is probably the
best known and most highly awarded hotel in the Hunter Valley wine region.
It is a lovely colonial country house style property set in pretty grounds
looking out on the rolling hills of the Hunter.
Its two-storey accommodation building is set a few metres away from its central reception, bar, restaurant and conference area and its indoor pool. Peppers also has a separate and self-contained homestead with four twin or double rooms, two bathrooms and a lounge with open fireplace. It has a courtyard, barbecue and children's play area ideal for family groups, couples travelling together or corporate group travellers seeking privacy. The central building is also warm and inviting with polished timber floors, colourful rugs, comfortable furniture and sandstone fireplaces. It is at the same time peaceful and relaxing and convivial. Its Chez Pok serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and has won several awards in its own right. It has an extensive stock of fine Hunter wines and ports. The guest lounge has an open fireplace and bar and is a great favourite with guests. |

| Peppers Guest House
guestrooms are furnished in a warm, cosy country colonial style with
antiques and bric-a-brac giving them a comfortable, lived-in feeling.
Guests have the choice of double rooms with ceiling fans and heaters or King-bedded rooms with air conditioning. There are two King suites with a double sofa bed in the lounge area and air conditioning. The hotel has an outdoor pool, and an indoor one with spa - essential when the weather gets cool in the Hunter. The energetic can use the hotel's tennis court or hire a bicycle to explore the nearby countryside. Renowned for its wineries and wine tasting, the area offers a vast range of other activities from sedate horse drawn carriage tours to hot air ballooning and skydiving which the hotel can organise. Peppers is popular as a weekend retreat for romantic couples and as a small conference venue during the week. Free of city distractions, it is highly sought after by organisations who want to keep their conference delegates' minds on the job. Peppers has two meeting rooms holding 60 and 120 and a lot of experience handling conference groups. Peppers generally requires a minimum two nights stay on weekends and during public holidays. Most guests would go away disappointed if they did not stay at least that long, whether they just wanted to relax or enjoy at least some of the area's attractions. |
