Rae's on Watego's exclusive guest house and restaurant is a unique relaxing experience offering luxury suite and penthouse accommodation and genuinely sophisticated cuisine.

With a maximum of fourteen guests at any one time, Rae's is a perfect combination of all the comforts and facilities of a hotel, but with the privacy and hospitality of an exclusive guest house.

Situated on the absolute beach front of secluded Watego's Beach and the breathtaking beauty of the Cape Byron Headland makes this a unique location. Rae's is surrounded by the best of Byron's natural beauties including Cape Byron nature reserve, which displays over 4 km of walking tracks, ancient Aboriginal sites, over 23 different vegetation communities and some of the best beaches in Australia at your front door step. The view down and into the Pacific Ocean, out and onto the horizon never pales. Whales, schools of dolphins, manta rays and turtles are sighted regulars along the coast line.

During their migration, whale watching has become very popular in the winter months of May and June and August through to October. The Cape Byron Headland is Australia's best land based whale watching position and humpback whales are frequently sighted from the beaches, cliffs and surrounding areas. The penthouse terraces are also an excellent vantage point. Dolphins can be sighted throughout the year and it is a rare week that pods cannot be seen using the waves.

Rae's is a distinctive Mediterranean styled villa that features an exclusive mix of seven individually styled luxury suites and penthouses. Each suite has been uniquely appointed with an exotic selection of antiques and furnishings. Italian marble tiles, hand carved Javanese teak furniture and beautiful Moroccan mosaics grace the interiors. Suites offer a mixture of courtyards or garden terraces whilst the penthouses have large sun drenched balconies with panoramic ocean, headland and lighthouse views.

The dining options at Rae's are unlimited. The fully licensed five star restaurant is situated on the ground floor, overlooking the ocean and offers a unique and elegant dinning experience by award winning restauranteur Vincent Rae. With plenty of fresh local seafood to savor and an ever changing menu, our chefs love to cater to patron's personal tastes, whilst introducing the regions sumptuous produce. Guests are given the choice of relaxing on the outdoor dining terrace or taking meals in the privacy of their room for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Private barbecues, picnics and functions are also arranged upon request.

Penthouse 2 - The Ocean View
Our largest penthouse with two private bedrooms and bathrooms, this luxury apartment comfortably and privately accommodates two couples. Features include a sunken dining room, lounge room, kitchenette, marble fireplace, king size four poster bed, private pool access, two spacious balconies and most of all, expansive ocean, headland and lighthouse views.

Penthouse 7 - The Deluxe
A one bedroom penthouse on the mid floor, this is a suite of indulgence. With stunning pillars and interlocking archways connecting your very own lounge room, king size bedroom and marble bathroom complete with an exotic bath opening onto your own private fireplace and sitting room. Featured throughout the suite are antique imported furnishings and hand painted oriental tiles. A large balcony from the bedroom completes the room with a Moroccan lounge bed and outdoor dining area overlooking the breezy ambience of the ocean, the lighthouse and the headland.

Suite 6- The Batavian
Batavia is the original Dutch name for Java from where many of the antique furnishings from this suite originate. Situated on the ground floor, this opulent suite with a garden terrace, features a spacious open plan with exquisite antique tiles throughout – taken from a Javanese Palace, a lavish marble and mosaic tiled bathroom with spa bath, king size bed and lounge.

Suite 5 - The Courtyard
Situated off the garden and pool areas, with it’s own private mosaic tiled courtyard, ensuite, queen sized Balinese bed and Indian matted floors, this is a lovely intimate suite.

Suite 4 - The Poolside
Located amidst tropical gardens with French doors opening onto the pool and garden area, this private suite features arched gothic windows, marble floor, a Moroccan lounge bed, ensuite and a private garden balcony.

Suite 3- The Moroccan
A luxurious and unique suite featuring a 180-degree window settee providing a lovely bright and airy ambience overlooking the tropical gardens. Other features include a moulded queen size bed, Moroccan arched doorways, marble floors and fireplace and an exquisite mosaic tiled suite.
