A RECORD OF SUCCESS
Safety, reliability, experience -- hallmarks of a
quality airline operation. For more than 30 years, Skywest Airlines has
been living by these principles in meeting the air transport needs of
regional Western Australians.
Skywest Airlines, the result of several mergers
between aviation operators throughout the country, can trace its origins
back to Carnarvon Air Taxis in 1963.
Today, Skywest Airlines is one of the largest
operators in the Western Australian aviation industry and is the state's
largest and longest established regional airline operator.
Skywest Airlines operates autonomously in Western
Australia although draws on the expertise and resources of its larger
stablemate, Ansett Australia, where appropriate.
From its administrative headquarters in Perth,
Skywest sets its own schedules and airfares and markets its own range of
competitively priced package holidays and business products to
destinations such as Albany, Esperance and Monkey Mia. An agreement with
Ansett allows reservations to be booked through the Merlin computerised
reservations system and all flights with Skywest attract points for
members of Global Rewards.
Skywest Airlines operates from the Ansett
terminal at Perth domestic airport and has locally-appointed agents in
each regional centre to provide reservations and check-in facilities.
An extensive Route Network |

|
| Skywest Airlines operates
an extensive route network in Western Australia providing regular
passenger transport services across this vast state.
Skywest provides the essential link for 13
regional centres across Western Australia, from Exmouth in the north to
Albany in the south,
Its network, which operates from Perth, provides
services to Albany, Esperance, Kalgoorlie, Geraldton, Laverton, Leonora,
Leinster, Mt Keith, Wiluna, Meekatharra, Shark Bay, Carnarvon and Exmouth.
Flexible Pricing & Scheduling |
| Large enough to provide a
full range of airline services but small enough to maintain flexibility,
Skywest Airlines is uniquely equipped to meet the particular transport
needs of organisationas operating in regional Western Australia.
The airline's regular passenger transport
schedule to the eastern goldfields, for example, is specifically tailored
to meet the fly-in, fly-out operations of the region's mining industry.
Charter operations can also bc arranged to suit one-off requirements.
Skywest Airlines frequently consults with
organisations which use the service regularly to ensure that proposed
schedule changes continue to meet their needs.
Skywest Airlines provides one of the most
cost-effective services of any comparable regional airline in Australia,
which often makes a return flight to a regional centre cheaper than the
cost of driving.
Linking the Outback to the World |
| Skywest's association
with Ansett Australia, supplies to regional Western Australians all of the
benefits of a full-service city-based international travel agency
Passengers anywhere on the Skywest network can
book Ansett flights to anywhere in Australia through their local Skywest
agent.
Similarly, all International travel arrangements,
including flights, accommodation, car-hire and package holidays can be
booked through local Skywest agents in Albany, Esperance, Geraldton,
Carnarvon and Exmouth
Freight to outback locations is handled largely
by Ansett Air Freight, a seven day a week service operating from Kewdale.
Utilising the freight-handling expertise of Ansett Air Freight and the
large capacity of the Fokker 50 aircraft, this service provides for the
urgent shipment of freight from Perth to any destination on the Skywest
network
Jet Like Comfort |
| The Skywest Airlines
fleet of 46-seat Fokker 50 aircraft provides a level of comfort equal to
that offered on Australia's major domestic routes.
The Fokker 50's wide aisles and Boeing jet
standard seating together with its generous cabin baggage lockers and
jet-like quietness have been acclaimed by passengers.
Inflight service, including hot meals and
beverage facilities, is available to help make the journey more enjoyable.
