| This is a unique opportunity to
cruise through one of the world's great natural wonders in style and
comfort. Start the day with a leisurely breakfast then relax on the
sundeck under cloudless skies and let the world drift slowly by.
Lunch may be a superb buffet or a B.B.Q. on the top deck overlooking
one of the many idyllic islands we visit.
As dusk settles enjoy cocktails in the bar with old and new friends prior to sumptuous dinner prepared by our chef. After a perfect day you may just wish to relax under the stars on the top deck, enjoy a video, or just curl up with a good book. Below you find the 4 and 7 day North and Southbound cruise itineraries. Please note that the meals as mentioned (B=breakfast; L= lunch; D=dinner) are included in the cruise rates. CAIRNS - CAPE YORK - THURSDAY ISLAND - 7 Day Cruise / Fly DAY 1: CAIRNS SUNDAY (LD) Board the MV Kangaroo Explorer at 1.30pm in time for a 2.30pm departure from Trinity Wharf. Cruise past the Marlin Coast enroute to Cooktown. DAY 2: COOKTOWN (BLD) Cooktown provides a morning of absorbing interest. Explore the century old buildings, gardens and the National Trust James Cook Museum. Afternoon snorkelling and evening fishing on the Great Barrier Reef. Cooktown is where our Passengers from Bloomfield Lodge join the cruise. DAY 3: PIXIE PINNACLE/COD HOLE (BLD) Pixie Pinnacle has magnificent coral outcrops in vertical displays for viewing by diving, snorkelling or from our glass bottomed boat, the Joey Explorer. At the world renowned Cod Hole say G'day to Giant Potato Cod and Moray Eels as they compete for a free feed. Snorkel with them or watch the action from Joey. DAY 4: LIZARD ISLAND (Optional Fly in/out) (BLD) View the magnificent outer reefs from the vantage point of Cook's Lookout. Stroll to the Blue Lagoon, enjoy a swim and a snorkel. Enjoy a barbecue for dinner tonight. DAY 5: OUTER BARRIER REEF (BLD) We visit a sand cay on the outer barrier reef for coral viewing, snorkelling, relax and enjoy the beauty of the reefs surrounding us. In summer months, giant turtles are often present around the cay. This afternoon we anchor at Bligh Reef for night fishing. This is the reef through which Captain Bligh sailed the Mutiny of the Bounty. DAY 6: TROPICAL ISLAND (BLD) A beautiful tropical island for relaxing under the coconut trees, swimming and snorkelling in the crystal clear waters or soaking up the sun on the beach. Don't forget to bring your fancy dress costume to wear at tonight's farewell party for our special seafood feast. DAY 7: CAPE YORK / THURSDAY ISLAND (B) We go ashore on the northern most tip of the Australian Continent and toast this special occasion. At this point we farewell our passengers who are staying at Pajinka Wilderness Lodge. Then to Thursday Island at 9.00am (approximately) to connect with safari, scenic flight or your return cruise. |

DAY 1: THURSDAY IS/CAPE YORK Sat. (LD) Transfer to Thursday Island from scenic flight or 4WD safari. Board the MV Kangaroo Explorer at 1.30pm for a 2.30pm departure for the northernmost tip of Australia. We go ashore and toast this special occasion. DAY 2: TROPICAL ISLAND (BLD) A beautiful deserted tropical island for relaxing under the coconut trees, swimming and snorkelling in crystal clear waters or soaking up the sun on the beach. DAY 3 OUTER BARRIER REEF (BLD) Today we enjoy an early morning fish and the splendour of a remote sand cay that is also a bird rookery. Coral viewing and snorkelling is excellent, and in summer months this tiny isle is the nesting site for green turtles. DAY 4 LIZARD ISLAND (Optional Fly in/out) Tues.(BLD) Lizard Island is ours to explore. View the magnificent outer reefs from the vantage point of Cook's Lookout.
