An Introduction

The capital and largest city of South Korea is Seoul, the political, cultural, commercial, financial and educational heart. Other major cities are Pusan on the south-east coast, Taegu and Taejon in the central plateaux, Inchon on the west coast not far from Seoul, and Kwangju in the south.

Although there are upwards of 3,000 islands of various sizes, the most important is Chejudo Island.
