TRANSFER BETWEEN TERMINALS: The free shuttle bus, leaving every 7-20 minutes, transports passengers 1.5km (1 mile) between Terminals 1 and 2 in around ten minutes.

INFORMATION AND HELP DESKS: Information desks can be found on the Arrivals and Departures floors in the main area of each terminal.

AIRPORT FACILITIES: Money and communications: Full service banks, ATMs and bureaux de change are located throughout the airport, and both terminals have a post office. Eating and drinking: A good variety of Japanese and Western restaurants are available. Shopping: Shops, including duty-free in both terminals, are also available. Luggage: There is a left luggage counter in both terminals. Other facilities: There is a medical clinic at each terminal and Terminal 1 also has a dentist.

DISABLED FACILITIES: Tactile flooring assists visually-impaired travellers and there are wheelchair-accessible telephones. Wheelchairs can be provided. The airport provides a Braille guide, which is available at the information desk or which can be ordered in advance (tel: (0)476 345 055). The airport's website also contains information adapted for visually-impaired people. Each car park provides disabled parking spaces with discounted rates for people with disability ID. Both airport railway stations provide lifts for wheelchair users. All Japan Railways trains have wheelchair spaces and accessible toilets.

CONFERENCE AND BUSINESS FACILITIES: Terminal 2 has a business centre (tel: (0)476 348 781) which provides fax, photocopying, messenger services, information and secretarial services and offices and meeting rooms. There are fax and photocopying services available in Terminal 1.

CAR HIRE: There are four car hire companies, which should be contacted via airport representatives. Adapted cars for disabled drivers should be booked in advance.

CAR PARKING: There is long- and short-term parking at the airport. Drivers should follow signs to access the car parks, which are conveniently located for each terminal.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: The airport has road links to the Higashi-Kanto Expressway and Route 295, and to nearby cities including Tokyo and Narita, Shibayama and Tako. Passengers are advised to check the terminal they will be using before setting out to the airport since the terminals are 1.5km (1 mile) apart. There are security checks at the road entrance to the airport.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Rail: Train: Passengers should check which terminal they require before setting out to the airport as the terminals have separate railway stations. Keisei Electric Railway provides both regular trains and a Skyliner service, for which a reservation and supplementary ticket is necessary (journey time to central Tokyo: 60 minutes); the service runs to central Tokyo and other destinations. Japan Railways' reservation-only Narita Express and non-reservation rapid trains serve Tokyo and regional destinations. Road: Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport. Limousine: Limousine buses serve the domestic Haneda Airport and many local hotels, with separate lines to each terminal. Chauffeur-driven limousines are also available.

AIRPORT HOTELS: There are no hotels at the airport; hotels close by include the ANA Hotel Narita (tel: (0)476 331 311), Holiday Inn Tobu Narita (tel: (0)476 321 234), Hotel Narita Tokyu (tel: (0)476 330 109) and Hotel Nikko Winds Narita (tel: (0)476 331 111). There is a hotel reservation service at the airport (tel: (0)476 328 798), located in Terminal 1 at the airport.
