than 2,345 flights carrying an average of 237,995 passengers on a route
network which spans 28 countries.
The airline has an extensive domestic network in
the United States and is the largest U.S. carrier to provide service in
the Pacific. United is also a major transatlantic airline and a leading
carrier to Latin America. United’s primary hubs are based in Chicago,
Denver, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Tokyo and London.

The airline began
operations to and from Europe in May 1990 with daily service from
Frankfurt to Washington, D.C. and Chicago. Since this time, it has grown
rapidly within Europe and now operates flights between key gateways in the
U.S. and London, Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Milan, Amsterdam and
Düsseldorf. The airline’s primary European hub is based at
London Heathrow where it operates frequent service to gateways in
Washington D.C., New York’s JFK, Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco,
Chicago and Boston. Services are complemented by code sharing flights and
marketing alliances with other world airlines, including seven other
airlines in the Star Alliance network.
