Services & Classes
|
| Welcome aboard! Whether it's an extra pillow to
help you sit back and relax, or a relatively quiet place where you can
work, we'll help you make the most of your flight.
Passengers are welcomed in three languages -
English, French and Dutch - on transatlantic flights to and from Belgium.
For your convenience, flight attendants wear distinctive flag pins when
they speak a language other than English.
Meals
|
|
United provides two meals on its transatlantic
routes: from Europe, passengers are provided with lunch and a snack; to
Europe, passengers are provided with dinner and breakfast. Special meals (including
Kosher, Vegetarian, Seafood and Children's meals) may be booked, but
please remember to do so at least 24 hours prior to departure. Sometimes
we are able to offer McDonald's Happy Meals on long flights from or within
the U.S. Entertainment
|
|
Passengers on transatlantic flights may enjoy
movies, sports, cartoons and news on nine video channels, plus the Airshow
enroute map. Every seat in each class of service is outfitted with its own
video screen and complimentary headsets are passed out on international
flights. Cabins
|
|
As the first commercial airline to fly
fare-paying passengers coast to coast--and the first to provide flight
attendant service--United has a long tradition of taking care of the
people who travel with us.
Actually, we were the first airline to introduce
a separate "economy" service back in 1940. What's changed since
then? So much, it might take up more space on your hard drive than you've
got.
Economy Class |
| But here are some highlights you'll
discover today in United Economy Class: |
- An array of complimentaries - soft drinks,
coffee, and magazines, plus seatback video on all our new 777s.
- An efficient use of space. Ample overhead
storage, room for knees and elbows, and an uncrowded feeling.
- Attentive service with quick access to the
aisles.
- Depending on the length of your flight, a
snack or meal.
Of course, foremost, is our attitude. United has
always been "first" in trying to please our United Economy
passengers.

United First Suite Seat
The United First Suite, a combination seat which features office workspace
and reclines 180 degrees to form a six-and-a-half-foot-long bed, is
currently being introduced on select United Airlines Boeing 777s. United
plans to have the United First Suite on all its international 777 and
747-400 aircraft, with its first 20 aircraft converted by the year’s
end.
The United First Suite creates a total office environment with an
individual workspace that is large enough to accommodate a laptop
computer, an in-seat phone that allows data transmission and onboard
laptop power outlets. When in bed mode, the United First Suite provides
customers with a private sleeping area. In addition to larger, fluffier
pillows and a blanket, customers will be provided with a quilted
“mattress” blanket that can be placed over the reclined Suite to
smooth the small gaps between cushions. For entertainment, customers can
enjoy a nine-channel distributed video and personal video system, with an
onboard library of 20 selections. Noise reduction headsets also improve
the sound quality of the multi-channel onboard CD audio system or cancel
out background noise.
