Connecting to Our
Airline Partners
Air New Zealand, in conjunction with our
alliance partners; United Airlines, Singapore Airlines
and British Midland, operate a range of services between New Zealand,
Australia, America, Asia and the United Kingdom.
Together we can now offer our customers
a more flexible choice of flights and destinations. The following
illustrates steps to ensure a smooth and stress free connection between
Air New Zealand and our alliance partners.
Australian Connections

Connecting at Melbourne
|
|
After clearing Immigration and Customs,
customers proceed through the arrivals area and take the travelator to the
domestic departure area, where they redeposit their
luggage for transfer to their connecting domestic flight. Customers then
check the gate number for their connecting Air New
Zealand codeshare flight on the Flight Information Monitors and proceed to
the specified gate.

After clearing Immigration and Customs,
customers proceed through the arrivals hall to the connecting airline
Transfer Desk, where they redeposit their luggage for transfer to their
connecting domestic flight. Customers will be issued with a
complimentary ticket for the shuttle to take them to the Domestic
Terminal. The shuttle service leaves outside the International
Terminal, providing a comfortable transfer to the Domestic Terminal. On arrival at the Domestic Terminal,
customers check the gate number for their connecting Air New Zealand codeshare flight on the Flight Information Monitors and
proceed to the specified gate.

Connecting at Sydney |
|
After clearing Immigration and Customs,
customers proceed through the arrivals hall to their connecting
Transfer Desk in the International Terminal, where they redeposit their
luggage for transfer to their connecting domestic flight. Customers
then board the complimentary shuttle service that leaves outside the
International Terminal for a comfortable transfer to the Domestic
Terminal. Customers will need to show their boarding pass to the
driver. On arrival at the Domestic Terminal,
customers check the gate number for their connecting Air New Zealand codeshare flight on the Flight Information Monitors and
proceed to the specified gate.

Connecting at London
Heathrow to British Midland
|
|
Air New Zealand flights to and from
Heathrow Airport operate from Terminal 3. Air New Zealand domestic
connections within the United Kingdom are operated on behalf of Air New
Zealand by British Midland, with the boarding pass for these flights
showing a BD (British Midland) flight number. Air New Zealand
/ British Midland codeshare services within the UK arrive and depart from
Terminal 1. After arriving at Heathrow, customers
should follow the
signs to Terminal 1 for their codeshare domestic flight. There, customers
proceed through Passport Control and make their way to Gate 4, the British
Midland gate. Customs Clearance for luggage will be at their final
UK destination.

Connecting at Singapore
to Singapore Airlines |

Air New Zealand flights to and from
Singapore arrive at Changi Airport, Terminal 2. Air New Zealand
connecting flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur are operated on behalf of
Air New Zealand by Singapore Airlines, with the boarding pass for these
flights showing an NZ (Air New Zealand) flight number. After arriving at Changi Airport, it is
not necessary for customers to clear Immigration and Customs formalities
or to collect their luggage if they are connecting to an Air New Zealand /
Singapore Airlines codeshare service to Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur.
Customers check the Flight Information Monitors for the flight number,
boarding gate and departure time of their onward flight and then proceed
to the specified gate. |

United Airlines |
|
Air New Zealand flights to and from Los Angeles
operate from Terminal 2. Air New Zealand domestic connections within
the United States are operated on behalf of Air New Zealand by United
Airlines, with the boarding pass for these flights showing a UA (United
Airlines) flight number. Air New Zealand / United Airlines codeshare
domestic services arrive and depart from Terminal 7. After clearing Immigration and Customs, customers
redeposit their luggage at the United Airlines Connecting Baggage Desk for
transfer to their Air New Zealand / United Airlines codeshare domestic
flight. Customers can either walk or catch the complimentary LAX airport
shuttle from Terminal 2 to Terminal 7 for their connecting domestic
service.

Connecting at Auckland
|
|
Upon arrival, after clearing Immigration and
Customs, customers connecting to Air New Zealand National and Link
domestic services redeposit their luggage at the Domestic Baggage Transfer
Desk in the International Terminal and receive a boarding pass for their
onward flight. Customers can then board the complimentary
transfer bus to the Domestic Terminal. Customers connecting from Air New Zealand
National (and selected Link services) to international flights can check
their luggage through to their international destination at their
departing airport. After arrival in Auckland, luggage will be
automatically transferred and customers can then board the complementary
transfer bus to the International Terminal.
